Don't forget a juice box for our party! For the party at 11:00 we will be having a slice of pizza and a treat.

We will also have our traditional Holiday Grab Bag! Don't forget to bring in a gently used wrapped book tomorrow and join in the fun!

I saw many impressive book reports! It was fun seeing the creative gifts for your main character and hearing why you chose that gift. I could see the pride and effort that went into these reports.

3P & 3D Holiday Grab Bag

A BOOK IS A PRESENT THAT CAN BE OPENED OVER AND OVER!

A great way to recycle your gently used chapter books and get a different one in return is at the

3P & 3D Holiday Grab Bag.

Please send in one gently used 3rd grade chapter book wrapped! Each child who brings in a book will pick a book from the sack. If your book is girl or boy specific please mark it on the outside. During the party we will be serving pizza and a snack. Please send in $1 and bring in your own juice box.

Don't forget your Book Report

Checklist: Wrapped present, gift card with why you picked this present, profile sheet, character trait stars. Due tomorrow! Please return your book, too.

Dictionary Day

Rotarians are people who like to help people!

THANK YOU to the Washington Rotarians for their generous donation. One of their many missions is to supply dictionaries to third graders world wide!

Holiday Visit from the Troops

Today the students were surprised with a visit from the National Guard. They came to thank us for the holiday cards we sent to the troops. The students had the chance to crawl through their humvee!

LA:Don't forget your Character Trait Book Report and Gift project is due on Tuesday, December 21st. The gift card must have the reason why you chose the gift for your character. Remember to wrap the gift and be prepared to present your project to the class.
Parents- Sign and return the Friday Folder, The Project Folder(you may keep the contents of the Colonial Times unit), and the bottom of the progress report.
I added a green note about a holiday grab bag(with gently used 3rd grade chapter books)in the Friday Folder. We plan for the two third grades to have a combined holiday party and are asking each student to bring in $1 for a slice of pizza and their own juice box on Friday, 12/23. Miss DeWitt and I will provide a snack. Anyone wishing to send in a "treat" must follow the school food policy. Thanks and enjoy the holidays!

Book Report

I have told the students to bring their book and packet to school everyday. I have given them time in class to work on it and helpful hints.

Don't forget your book report is due on 12/21. By now you should have read the book and found 5 character traits that best descibe the main character of your book. Remember to write why you chose that trait and the page number where you found the idea. The special gift needs to be clever not obvious. The gift card needs to explain why that gift is appropriate for your character. Your effort and pride is very important to this project.
