I was very impressed with the colonial toys and the oral presentations.  We will send the toys home on Wed. Nov. 27 after our "Colonial Recess".

Thank you to all the parents who came to school visitation.  The kids worked really hard memorizing their lines for the skit.

The students are now learning about the sun and moon in science with Miss DeWitt.  They will not have social studies, so I can teach Miss DeWitt's class about the Colonial Times.  Please continue to check my blog for homework and upcoming test/projects in science.  I think they are enjoying the change of scenery.

The colonial toys look great.  We have begun the presentations and I'm impressed.  We will finish up the presentations this week and have a " recess period" to play with them on Wed. Before we leave for Thanksgiving break.

American Education Day Tomorrow!

American Education Day
Reminder the morning session begins at 9:25 and ends at 10:00.

The afternoon session begins at 1:57 and ends at 2:30.

Spelling WWW-  This week is word wall words.  These are frequently used and often misspelled words we notice in our writing workshop.  The directions for the homework is stapled into the spelling notebook.  Please return the notebooks on Friday.  Tonight Hi-Lite the vowels.

 Please remember- It is a new marking period so I am expecting more effort in your daily work including NEATNESS!!!

MATH:  Thermometers MEASURE temperature in degrees like rulers MEASURE lines in inches.

SCIENCE( with Miss DeWitt)  Don't forget your science homework for Wednesday.

Next Monday is part 2 of Snakes and Scales and from what I saw and heard the kids loved it!

The American Education visitation slip went home today.  Let us know if you can make it during one of the two sessions on Tuesday the 19th.  The students are putting on a skit called: The Native American Welcome.

The colonial toy project is due on Wed., Nov. 20.  If you need help or suggestions let me know.

Don't forget to change your fire alarm batteries and plan a family meeting place were just some of the important tips the firemen shared with us today.

The students in my home room are going to begin science with Miss DeWitt tomorrow when her students have social studies with me.  I think the kids will enjoy switching teachers.

Well the students "stalled" me 43 minutes to count $78.38.  Well deserved!

LA:  Over the break review the "Rockin Round" letters in cursive: a, c, g and q.
R/R for 15 mins.  Reading on the computer or a book for your colonial toy counts.

MATH:  practice your multiplication facts: 0, 1, 2, 5, 9, 10 and 11 so far.
