Please review the work, if you have any comments or concerns please let me know.  Future reading tests will be similiar.

I am also up for a challenge- if you feel a question was marked wrong and you can defend your choice let me know by writing something to support your reason.  Bring it in on Monday.

It's a BOY!  We had another butterfly emerge this morning and another GIRL shortly after!

LA:  Tomorrow we will have our first set of reading tests.  Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and spelling.  Don't forget to think about our Essential Question:  How is learning at HOME different from learning at SCHOOL.  Think about what Tillie told the principal.
Complete page 13 in your Reader's notebook and study your spelling words. 

MATH:  Remember rounding makes adding numbers easier!  It makes the math problem easy enough to do in your head!

We are finishing up beginning of the year assessments tomorrow.

LA:  Read for 15 mins and record it on your Book-It! log.  Keep that log in a safe place and turn it in on Oct. 1st, (your homework folder might be a great place. 
MATH:  solve the addition problems in pencil.  Do not color it!

QUESTION: In your agenda book write the 4 butterfly stages in order!  Be ready to show me tomorrow and earn a ticket.

Happy First Day

1.Today was very productive and even eventful!  The students witnessed a caterpillar in its "J".  Ask them what that means. 
2. We have Family Life tomorrow. 
3. Please return the necessary forms for the office ASAP.  They can be downloaded from the school website in the backpack.
4. Please bring the agenda book(student planner) and your homework folder tomorrow.
5. I sent home a class letter with some helpful information and on the back is a classmate word search.  For Fun!
6.  The students should check out my blog everyday.  I like to add a question each day.  If the student comes in with the correct answer they can earn a ticket.
7.  Back to school night is Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 5:45.
