Fundraising updates:

All families should have received two fundraisers sent home from the OCS PTA:
Tupperware and Kid Stuff books.  If you haven't received both and would like one please email Christine at erhard41@comcast.net

The Tupperware fundraiser is due back by Friday, September 26.

 Kid Stuff books payments are due back on October 1. 

If you are not interested in either fundraiser please return them to the school.

All unwanted Kids Stuff books must be returned.

THE BRAIN SHOW!

Family Fun Night tonight at 6:30.  Doors open at 6!  The kids had a great time during the assembly this morning.  It will be performed again for families, tonight.

!st Week of Testing
Some things to know:
1.  The test will look like the one sent home today.
It will have comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and a spelling test. 
2.  I try my best to have everything graded on the day it is taken.  I use a fraction system to determine the grades.  The number on the bottom is the number of problems in that section and the number on the top is the amount of correct answers.  I also gave a %. 
3. I use a checkmark system for homework.  A check means the homework was done with very few errors.  A check minus means some work is incomplete, missing or sloppy.  A check plus means it was done well with lots of effort.
4.  Please look over the work with your child and sign and date the sheet in the back pocket and return the folder.  You keep the work.

Wow what a week

I am very pleased with the students' adjustment back to school! 

You gave me a child ready to learn-I will give you a shining star in return...

 

I am sure you've heard we are raising Monarch caterpillars and learning all about their cool life cycle.  A caterpillar just made it's "J" today!  Ask your child what that means..

We are also getting ready to crack open a brand new math and reading series.  I am so excited to share these books with the class!
