Friday Folders

Parents and Students:
In your Friday Folder I put an information sheet and permission slips for our trip to Waterloo Village on Friday, Oct. 25.  Please return the liability form, permission slip and $5 cash by Mon., 10/21.

I also need you to sign and return the IPP (Individual Profile of Progress) math packet.  These are skills presented the week before.  Remember the bigger number MUST be on top before you subtract.

This week's words were challenging, but my goal was that the students would at least be aware that they got the long a sound by including an "ai" in the middle(or close to) of the word and that the long a on the end was spelled with the "ay".  This was the discussion all week.  This is also why we include new patterned words so they will apply the skill.  I always say, "Now if you can spell betrAY you should be able to spell displAY."

This week we spoke about showing respect to ourselves, others and property.  It is something we should always do.  Please make a conscience effort  to set goals to show respect each day.

In social studies we have set sail for a voyage aboard the Mayflower to the New World.  The students will learn why the pilgrims chose to leave England and the difficulties they faced on board the ship.
QUESTION:  What is a voyage?  What made this voyage so difficult?

Picture Day is Tuesday, Oct. 15.  We go at 11:30.
