Happy Valentine's Day-Enjoy your family!

Tricky Tray

Thanks to everyone who has helped fill our tricky tray basket. A big thanks to Nathan's cousin for sending in box loads of Crayola supplies( lots of markers, crayons, notebooks, painting kits). We are in need of large Crayola coloring books, sidewalk chalk, model magic, art kits, crayon maker, easel, etc...

Just a reminder we will be exchanging Valentine's on Tuesday. Staying in line with our school wide nutrition policy- please NO snacks with the Valentines!

Project

Black History Month Project

Due 2/27

To celebrate their successes please create a 3 dimensional portrait of your famous Black American. You may use the drawing as a base and add objects to create a 3D effect. (poster board, felt, foil, cardboard, yarn, fabric, paint, glitter, beads, buttons, etc…) Avoid crayons, paint or markers except when necessary. Be creative!

Read the short biography and choose 5 words that sum up their accomplishments in life and work. Highlight the words and be prepared to type them in class by 2/15. We will create a MATCH GAME using the five words and the portraits in the hallway for others to figure out. Your words should make it easy for others guess. It is not supposed to be challenging.

EX: Martin Luther King, Jr.- peaceful, speech, dream, equal, protest

Please hand in your notebook on Friday!
MATH: Study your Line, Segment and Ray packet for a quiz tomorrow.
SCIENCE: Study your Water Cycle notes. You need to know precipatation, condensation, evaporation and how they work in the water cycle for the test.
SPANISH: Write 3 or more sentences using your transportation/neighborhood vocabulary.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Book for Bingo is on Friday night 2/10.
Paper Towels from 3rd Graders are still being collected for the needy.
